If you roll, this is the page for you. Every herb here can be smoked or brewed on its own, blended with tobacco to cut it down, or used to replace it altogether. Start with Mullein as your base and add one or two of the others for flavour and effect. No nicotine, no additives, just dried leaf and flower.
Smoking herbs
Mullein — The base.
Soft, smooth and almost flavourless, mullein is the leaf every tobacco-free blend is built on. It burns evenly, feels gentle on the chest and is the herb folk tradition reaches for when the lungs need soothing.
Effects: Breathe · Soothe · Cleanse.
Damiana — The body.
Slightly bitter, slightly sweet, with a warm, uplifting feel that fills the place where tobacco’s “hit” used to be.
Effects: Mood · Happy · Love · Energy.
Mugwort — The evening roll.
Silvery, aromatic and calming; the classic night-time smoking herb across Europe and Asia. Contains mugwort; avoid during pregnancy.
Effects: Calm · Dream · Sleep.
Lavender — The flavour.
A pinch brings a soft floral note to any blend and calms the breath.
Effects: Calm · Mood.
Rose Petals — The sweetness.
Rose rounds a harsh blend and adds a gentle lift to the mood.
Effects: Love · Mood · Calm.
Lemon Balm — The brightness.
Light and citrus; a daytime roll that lifts rather than sedates.
Effects: Calm · Happy · Focus.
Passion Flower — The night roll.
Mild, grassy and quieting; for the last roll of the day.
Effects: Sleep · Calm · Unwind.
Blue Lotus — The treat.
A soft, dreamy evening flower, best in small amounts. Adults only; not with alcohol.
Effects: Calm · Dream · Spirit.
Wild Dagga — The one that feels like something.
The orange South African flower with a mellow, relaxed body feel; the closest thing in the catalogue to a satisfying end-of-day smoke. Adults only; avoid during pregnancy.
Effects: Calm · Happy · Unwind.
Peppermint — The cooling edge.
A little peppermint in the blend cools the smoke and opens the breath.
Effects: Breathe · Digest · Focus.
